When the church was first built in 1951, mass was held in the basement hall until May 3, 1953 when Archbishop J.H. MacDonald solemnly blessed and dedicated the church. The six parish priests that served Immaculate Heart include:
Fr. Joseph Burke (1951); Fr. Duncan MacDonnell; Fr. Charles Nearing; Fr. William McClellan; Fr. George Neumann; Fr. John Cunningham (2001)
In 2001, it was decided to amalgamate Immaculate Heart of Mary with St. Anthony’s and St. Agnes Parishes.

Our Lady of Good Help welcomed His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Bechara
Boutros Al Rahi who visited Edmonton for the first time on May 9, 2012. The visit was a part of his trip to Canada and the USA. A Mass was held at the Basilica of Saint Joseph on Jasper Avenue, Downtown. A dinner party was followed and last till early morning of the next day, where his Beatitude greeted the guests at the banquet at the Shaw Conference Centre. A Mass was followed at Our Lady of Good Help church where his beatitude dedicated the new Alter of the church.
