OUR LADY OF GOOD HELP CHURCH - EDMONTON
Our Lady of Good Help Church is serving the Marontie Catholic, and the Christian Arab community in Edmonton- Alberta, Canada since 2004, when it was established by the Lebanese Priest, Father Esper Anthon.
The Roman Catholic Rite
When the church was first built in 1951, mass was held in the basement hall until May 3, 1953 when Archbishop J.H. MacDonald solemnly blessed and dedicated the church. The six parish priests that served Immaculate Heart include:
Fr. Joseph Burke (1951); Fr. Duncan MacDonnell; Fr. Charles Nearing; Fr. William McClellan; Fr. George Neumann; Fr. John Cunningham (2001)
In 2001, it was decided to amalgamate Immaculate Heart of Mary with St. Anthony’s and St. Agnes Parishes.
The 12th Annual Lebanese Maronite Festival 2015
Live from the 20th till the 23rd of August, with Ziad Imaz, Farah Naz, and Khaled Nakuzzi
11:00 am to 11:00 pm daily at the Churchill Square.
You are cordially invited to the opening ceremony of our 12th Annual Lebanese Festival, sponsored by The Maronite Catholic Church of Edmonton. The ceremony will be held on Thursday August 20th, 2015, at 6:30PM, at Churchill Square Downtown – Edmonton.
The festival will take place from Thursday, August 20th till Sunday, August 23rd from 11:00AM -11:00PM. where you can enjoy the Traditional Lebanese Fare with Lebanese food, DJ’s, live singers, Folkloric dance , a kids zone, and a fashion show.
